The Model 8230AJ is a high-gain (40 dB) GNSS outdoor antenna supporting GPS L1, GLONASS L1, BeiDou B1, Galileo E1, and QZSS L1. It features a three-stage low noise amplifier, mid-section SAW, and tight pre-filter to prevent saturation from strong sub-harmonics and L-band signals.

There are two antenna options: standard and Anti-Jam (AJ). The standard antenna receives signals from the entire sky, including satellites at the horizon and zenith. However, increasing interference in the GNSS L1 band—from sources like communication towers or illegal “privacy jammers”—can affect signal quality.

The AJ antenna addresses this by rejecting signals from low elevation angles, where most interference originates, and focusing on signals from higher elevation angles where satellites are located. While this limits the number of satellites detected, timing applications typically require only a few satellites. Additionally, multi-constellation receivers benefit from an increasing number of satellites, ensuring full timing accuracy alongside 20 dB or more interference rejection provided by the AJ antenna.
