Orolia Enterprise-Class SecureSync NTP Server

The Orolia Enterprise-Class SecureSync NTP Server offers high-bandwidth Stratum 1 and 2 timing via GPS and other sources. It supports IEEE-1588 PTPv2 grandmaster, multiple reference inputs, and modular interfaces with 1 GbE ports. Features include secure web management, Anycast NTP, IPv4/IPv6 support, alerts, CLI/SSH access, and a 5-year warranty.

Category:

SecureSync® integrates Spectracom’s precision GPS master technology with a secure, network-centric design housed in a compact 1RU modular chassis, delivering a powerful, scalable, and flexible NTP appliance.

The base model features a built-in 10/100 Base-T Ethernet port supporting over 7,500 NTP requests per second and the latest NTPv4 capabilities. It can operate alongside other stratum-1 NTP servers, function as a stratum-2 server, and expand through optional modules.

Expandable Synchronization Capabilities:

SecureSync allows adding hardware options either at deployment or as your network evolves. Optional modules include three 10/100/1000 interfaces for delivering NTP to multiple isolated LAN segments at 1 GigE speeds. Additionally, two PTPv2 options enhance functionality: one for configurable master/slave PTP over 10/100 Ethernet, and another for PTP grandmaster operation at 1 GigE. Up to six ports of either type can be added, each operating independently with dedicated processors to optimize PTP performance.

Alongside precision 10 MHz and 1PPS outputs, various other physical synchronization signals are available as options. These can serve as redundant references or support specialized applications like timing across security boundaries via optical fiber.

Reliability and Scalability:

Designed for all timing network architectures, SecureSync offers multi-GNSS support (including GLONASS and BeiDou) to improve signal availability. It can operate without a GPS receiver as a cost-effective stratum-2 server. Units within the same stratum can be configured as NTP peers. Other timing references such as T1/E1, time code, and 1PPS are supported with user-defined priority. An internal oscillator (TCXO, OCXO, or Rubidium options) maintains timing accuracy during reference loss.

Network-Centric Security and Management:

SecureSync is a security-hardened appliance compliant with stringent network security standards. It ensures tamper-proof management, detailed logging, and supports robust network protocols for secure and flexible configuration. Features can be enabled or disabled to match network policies. Installation is streamlined with DHCP (IPv4), AUTOCONF (IPv6), SLAAC, front-panel keypad and display, command-line interface, and a modern web browser UI. An optional synchronization quality monitor is also available.

NTP Over Anycast:

Implemented in SecureSync and NetClock 9400 platforms, Orolia’s NTP supports Anycast routing. This feature lets the time server associate one of its network ports with an Anycast IP address and automatically withdraw as a time source if its reference encounters issues, ensuring network reliability and seamless failover.
