Power over Ethernet (PoE) Support
The Aruba Instant On 1830 Switch Series is available in 8-, 24-, and 48-port configurations, supporting both non-PoE and Class 4 PoE models. Each PoE port delivers up to 30W of power, suitable for devices like IP cameras, VoIP phones, and wireless access points. With a combination of PoE and non-PoE ports in the same unit, these switches offer an affordable and flexible solution for a wide range of deployment needs.
Flexible Management Options
Easily manage the 1830 switch series through two convenient modes:
- Instant On Cloud Management via mobile app or web portal for remote access and control
- Local Web GUI for on-site configuration and monitoring
Both options provide a user-friendly experience tailored to your preferred management style.
Robust Security Features
Protect your network with built-in security functionalities, including:
- VLAN support for traffic segmentation
- Automatic denial-of-service (DoS) protection
- Global storm control to manage traffic spikes
- TPM-based hardware security to prevent unauthorized access
These features work together to safeguard your business-critical data and network infrastructure.
Energy-Efficient Performance
Designed to lower power consumption and reduce operational costs, the 1830 Switch Series includes:
- Energy Efficient Ethernet (IEEE 802.3az)
- Automatic port power-down for inactive connections
- Energy-conscious cooling mechanisms
- Fanless design (select models) for quieter operation
Together, these features help maintain optimal temperature, reduce energy usage, and promote environmental sustainability.
SFP Fiber Uplink Ports
The 24- and 48-port models include dedicated 1G SFP fiber uplinks — two on the 24-port model and four on the 48-port model — to eliminate bottlenecks and enable high-performance uplinks. Fiber connections provide greater bandwidth and longer transmission distances compared to standard copper cabling.
PoE-Powered Device (PD) Capability
The 8-port non-PoE model supports PoE-in functionality, allowing it to be powered by another PoE switch or injector. This feature is ideal for hard-to-reach or space-limited areas where additional power outlets are not available, simplifying deployment and reducing installation complexity.
