The GE Fanuc IC693CHS398 is a 5-slot expansion baseplate designed for use with GE Series 90-30 modules. Similar to the 10-slot IC693CHS392, it requires connection to a CPU-equipped system, either within a PLC or a PC (with a PCI card). The maximum cable length between CPU and expansion baseplates is 50 feet.
CPU type determines the number of supported remote baseplates: up to 4 for CPUs 331, 340, and 341, and up to 7 for CPUs 350 and above. This baseplate does not support PCM, CMM, ADC, or BEM330 modules in remote configurations; these must be installed in the CPU baseplate. All other option and I/O modules are supported.
Remote baseplates match the size, power supply, and module compatibility of expansion baseplates. Each has a right-side 25-pin female D-type connector for linking baseplates and a Rack Number Selection DIP switch for configuration. All connected modules must share a common ground during installation.
