The Digifort License Plate Recognition (LPR) module is a high-performance solution for identifying and tracking vehicles in highways, streets, parking lots, shopping centers, and secure facilities. It leverages advanced Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to capture and store license plate data for real-time or future analysis.
Smart Vehicle Identification
The system automatically detects license plates as vehicles pass through the camera’s field of view. Captured data—including date, time, and location—is logged in a searchable database, allowing for easy event association, alarm triggering, and environment automation.
Access Control and Automation
Administrators can define access rules to automatically permit or deny vehicle entry based on license plate data. The system can control gates, apply traffic restrictions, and issue alerts for stolen vehicles, unpaid fines, or expired documentation.
Advanced Search Capabilities
Using customizable filters, users can search by:
- Plate number (full or partial)
- Date and time
- Character set
- Camera location
Integration and Reporting
The LPR module can interface with internal or third-party databases for broader surveillance coverage. Reports can be generated for suspicious vehicles, including images and detailed plate information.
Detection Methods
Two methods are available for capturing vehicle movement:
- Virtual Sensor: Uses motion detection within the video feed. Ideal for setups without additional hardware, though it requires more server processing power.
- Physical Sensor: Uses infrared, inductive loops, or I/O-triggered devices to detect movement, reducing server load and improving capture precision.
Key Benefits
- Real-time alerts for blacklisted vehicles
- Automated gate control and entry permissions
- Detailed reporting for enforcement and auditing
- Integration-ready with external databases and I/O systems
